Mikado Japanese Restaurant

The nigiri is exceptional. We had the unagi, smoked salmon, red snapper, and spicy salmon and it was all perfect. The ginger salad, miso soup, gyoza, chicken teriyaki, and fried ice cream are also incredible. The service is great, the sake is good, and the scorpion bowl is such a fun time! Great atm...

OK, I do love this place because the food is amazing. The service is kind of subpar. But the food is worth it. Now the atmosphere, that’s a different story. They need to play good music. I don’t understand why they play no music or terrible music low. There’s no vibe in there whatsoever and it’s kin...

Very cool spot, artistic decor. Nice wait staff. I recommend sticking with basic sushi here, which was fresh and tasty. The calamari was rubbery and not cut into bite sized rings, was in big tough chunks. The steak teriyaki was probably pork, and was a bit tough. Tasty sauce though, and nicely steam...

Great casual local Japanese restaurant with solid sushi (especially for a fairly suburban/rural town -- having been to various cities and Japan too). Was happy with the service and quality!

We visited here with new friends prior to their wedding day. Originally, we were supposed to meet at another restaurant, but that place couldn’t accommodate our reservation. I’m so glad we went here instead! The atmosphere, service, and food were worthy of 10 stars! We were greeted instantly, served...

Greaaat food, even for vegetarians. I loved the rolls and the sukiyaki soup! We were starving, so no photos of those, but the dessert was good too! Happy with our choice tonight!

Mikado is an established piece of Middletown history. I have been going to eat there for over 20years. I started brining my kids when they were infants, and now they both love sushi @ 10 and 12! The menu reads like a book, and its all decent quality. The atmosphere and the decor are always on point....
